Liz Webster - Consultant

Liz manages a wide range of clients at Emmett & Smith and is responsible for ensuring the efficient running and creative delivery of campaigns. Having completed a HND in Accounting as part of her studies Liz remains focused on the solid administrative base and attention to detail required to deliver campaigns which are on target and exceed expectation.

Prior to joining Emmett & Smith Liz worked for British Telecom as a manager in the Conferencing division managing a team of 20. Here she developed strong project delivery skills and a good understanding of how to manage people both internally and externally to get the best results for her clients. Though highly process and procedure driven Liz is flexible in her approach to tasks and is quick to respond to new situations as they arise drawing on her own ability and that of her team to meet deadlines and ensure success.

In order to secure regular feature length coverage for her clients, Liz and her team are responsible for Headline Planning; this involves working with her clients to identify potential stories and comment pieces and using our knowledge and experience to develop feature and opinion piece ideas for discussion with the press. Her tenacious approach to Media Relations enables Liz to position her clients as industry commentators and her passion for identifying the hot topics in each of their industries means that they are always first to offer comment and lead the debate.

As part of her ongoing personal development, Liz has attended a number of industry related courses including journalism training at the London College of Printing. She is a highly customer focused individual with a strong eye for detail. Her methodical and organised approach to managing her team means that every opportunity is taken to maximise the benefit she brings to her clients and assist them to meet their business objectives.

Liz’s greatest personal challenge to date has been the successful refocusing of her career path. She took the courage required to move from a role that no longer stretched her and has drawn on her strong skill base to establish herself as a key member of the team. She has thrived on the challenges provided by Emmett & Smith and has capitalised on every training opportunity afforded her to drive her career forward.

Liz was the proud winner of the 2003 Emmett & Smith “Communicator of the Year” Award in celebration of her unique outlook on life. In her spare time Liz enjoys shopping, socialising, travelling and is a keen swimmer.
