Lorraine Emmett - Founder & Managing Director
Lorraine founded Emmett & Smith in 1994, with the purpose of providing accountable, effective, evocative communications solutions in the B2B field. Lorraine has been involved in every element of planning, managing and delivering a PR campaign and now provides account direction for all Emmett and Smith’s clients. Lorraine is passionate about both her business and the PR industry and this translates into focused, successful campaigns for all Emmett and Smith’s clients.
Prior to running her own company, Lorraine worked in both mainstream advertising and PR gaining extensive experience of advertising and print production, media planning and buying as well as the strategic development of major brands. During her time in advertising, Lorraine was trained in the principle that 'nothing is impossible' under the tutelage of Jennifer Laing the former Chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi, and worked for a variety of leading advertising agencies including Saatchi's sister agency BSB Dorland, Laing Henry and Still Price. She was responsible for the management and development of a number of multinational brands, which include a variety of household names such as Texaco, Beecham, Aspro, Max Factor, Arthur Andersen and Wang, and plays an active role in all of Emmett & Smith's activities, providing strategic direction across all accounts.
In 1993, Lorraine left advertising, choosing to focus on meeting clients’ communications objectives rather than being constrained by the restrictions of traditional advertising practices. Prior to Emmett & Smith, Lorraine proved the value of a true through the line agency, offering specific marketing, public relations and advertising expertise working with a small business to develop its turnover ten fold, from £60,000 per annum to £600,000.
Lorraine’s main role is two-fold, providing strategic direction for existing clients, and preaching the Emmett and Smith gospel to prospective clients.
In her spare time, Lorraine is an active windsurfer and a regular visitor to the gym. She enjoys spending time with her family, and collecting shoes!
